Born on December 23, 1990, Sonali was raised in Mumbai in a disciplined family environment. Her father served as a deputy commissioner of police, and structure played a significant role in her upbringing.
She completed her graduation from Mithibai College in Mumbai, balancing academics with early modelling opportunities. Strong family values and resilience shaped her personality from a young age.
Inspired by Sister Ujjwala Raut
Sonali is the younger sister of internationally recognised supermodel Ujjwala Raut. Ujjwala has represented India on prestigious global runways and featured in leading fashion publications.
Growing up in a household with four sisters, Sonali has previously spoken about the competitive yet disciplined atmosphere at home. She has credited her upbringing for instilling determination and independence.
Modelling Success and Bollywood Career
Sonali first grabbed attention as a Kingfisher Calendar model, a platform known for spotlighting emerging faces in fashion.
She made her Bollywood debut with The Xposé (2014), starring alongside Himesh Reshammiya and Yo Yo Honey Singh. She later appeared in Great Grand Masti (2016), where her character Shiney gained attention. The film’s song “Lipstick Laga Ke” became one of the year’s popular tracks.
