Actor Bhumi Pednekar recently revisited a special memory from the early days of her career — an unexpected moment when Shah Rukh Khan praised her performance in Dum Laga Ke Haisha.
Reflecting on the interaction, Bhumi described it as both surreal and deeply motivating.
“I Wasn’t Prepared For An SRK Experience”
Speaking to Mid-Day, the Badhaai Do actor talked about how her debut film Dum Laga Ke Haisha received widespread appreciation. During the conversation, she shared details of meeting Shah Rukh Khan at YRF Studios shortly after the film’s release.
“I met him at YRF, and he appreciated me a lot for my film, and I couldn’t believe what was happening. I wasn’t prepared to have an SRK experience,” Bhumi recalled.
She explained that the superstar was shooting at the studio when they crossed paths in the café area. According to her, he invited her over for a chat, turning the brief meeting into an unforgettable exchange.
“There was a lot of love in that room and a lot of learning,” she said.

Bhumi emphasised that what stood out most was Shah Rukh Khan’s humility and attentiveness.
