Alia Bhatt is stepping back into the producer’s role with her upcoming film Don’t Be Shy, officially unveiled at a major streaming platform’s 2026 content lineup event in Mumbai.
The project marks another collaboration within the Bhatt family, as Alia will co-produce the film alongside her sister Shaheen Bhatt.
A Coming-of-Age Story with a Twist
The film follows Shyamili “Shy” Das, a 20-year-old who believes she has her life perfectly mapped out. However, her carefully structured world begins to unravel as unforeseen circumstances disrupt her plans, pushing her into unfamiliar emotional territory.

The Team Behind the Film
Don’t Be Shy will be produced under Alia’s banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions, in collaboration with Chalkboard Entertainment.
The film is directed by Sreeti Mukerji, who has also written the story and screenplay. Dialogues and additional screenplay are by Sehaj Kaur Maini.
The project is slated for a theatrical release in October 2026, with more details expected in the coming months.

She will also appear in Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
