Mrunal Thakur laughs off speculation about marrying Dhanush on Valentine’s Day.

Actor Mrunal Thakur has finally addressed speculation about her alleged Valentine’s Day wedding to Tamil star Dhanush — and she did so with humour.

Currently promoting her upcoming Hindi film Do Deewane Seher Mein alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi, Mrunal dismissed the rumours during a recent interview with Galatta Plus.

Mrunal Shuts Down Wedding Speculation

When asked directly about reports claiming she would marry Dhanush on February 14, Mrunal responded playfully.

“Me? No. I think 14th April is going to be the 1st April… 14th Feb is going to be the 1st April. April Fools’ Day,” she said, laughing off the claims.

She clarified that she never made any statement about a wedding. “First of all, I’ve been quoted, but I never said anything. And they just said, ‘Mrunal said so.’ I was like, wow, how beautiful. It’s scary,” she added.

As she spoke, Siddhant Chaturvedi appeared amused, struggling to hide his smile. Clips of the interaction have since gone viral on social media platforms.

Siddhant’s Playful Teasing Added Fuel

Interestingly, earlier promotional events had unintentionally intensified the rumours.

At a press interaction, a reporter referenced “Chennai-related questions.” Siddhant jokingly pointed at Mrunal and asked whether the question was meant for her. Mrunal clarified it wasn’t, but Siddhant continued teasing her about the Chennai connection, prompting knowing reactions from the media present.

The light-hearted banter only added to ongoing speculation.

How The Dating Rumours Began

Although neither Mrunal nor Dhanush has confirmed any relationship, rumours linking them began circulating in 2025.

Before August that year, Mrunal attended the wrap party of Dhanush’s film Tere Ishk Mein, drawing public attention. Later, in August, videos and photos of Mrunal welcoming Dhanush at the premiere of Son of Sardaar 2 — including a warm hug — further fuelled dating chatter.

By early 2026, unverified reports suggested the two would tie the knot on February 14. However, neither actor has officially acknowledged these claims.

Upcoming Projects

On the professional front, Mrunal Thakur has a packed slate. She will next appear in Do Deewane Seher Mein, releasing on February 20. Her upcoming Hindi projects include Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and Pooja Meri Jaan.

She is also set to star in the Telugu film Dacoit: A Love Story and is reportedly associated with Atlee’s upcoming project featuring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone.

Dhanush, meanwhile, has Kara in Tamil and an untitled film directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, co-starring Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela.

For now, Mrunal’s witty clarification makes one thing clear — the Valentine’s Day wedding rumours are nothing more than an April Fools-style mix-up.
