Luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co. has revealed its latest high-complication creation — the Opera Vantara Green Camo — a bespoke timepiece inspired by Anant Ambani’s wildlife conservation initiative, Vantara.
The newly unveiled watch merges maximalist design with symbolic storytelling, translating the ethos of wildlife preservation into haute horology.
Opera Vantara Green Camo: Design and Craftsmanship
The Opera Vantara Green Camo stands out with its large, intricately detailed dial. At its centre is a hand-painted 3D figurine of Anant Ambani, forming the visual focal point of the watch.
The figurine is dressed in a floral blue ensemble and surrounded by miniature sculptures of a lion and a Bengal tiger — powerful wildlife symbols that echo the conservation focus of Vantara. These detailed motifs add narrative depth, transforming the timepiece into a wearable tribute to fauna protection.
The dial and case feature a distinctive green camouflage pattern, reinforcing the wildlife theme while maintaining Jacob & Co.’s signature bold aesthetic.
397 Gemstones and 21.98 Carats of Brilliance
The watch is adorned with 397 gemstones, including:
- Demantoid garnets
- Tsavorites
- Green sapphires
- White diamonds
Together, the stones total approximately 21.98 carats, adding extraordinary brilliance and texture to the design.
Crafted in white gold and paired with a premium alligator leather strap, the timepiece exemplifies high jewellery watchmaking combined with intricate mechanical artistry.
In a statement accompanying the reveal, the brand described the watch as a creation that “brings artistry and intention together — one detail at a time.”
Price and Exclusivity
While Jacob & Co. has not officially disclosed the retail price, multiple reports estimate the Opera Vantara Green Camo at approximately USD 1.5 million — roughly Rs 13.7 crore.
This is not the first culturally significant piece associated with Anant Ambani. Previously, Jacob & Co. created a special Ram Janmabhoomi edition that was also seen on him, reinforcing the brand’s history of crafting narrative-driven, bespoke luxury timepieces.
