A wide range of products across leather categories will be showcased at the Leather Fashion Show 2026, organised by the Indian Finished Leather Manufacturers and Exporters Association (IFLMEA) in Chennai on February 1, highlighting the industry’s design strength and manufacturing capabilities.
The fashion show will be followed by a Brand Symposium on February 2, with both events scheduled to take place at ITC Grand Chola.
Addressing a press conference in Chennai on Thursday (January 29, 2026), Ateequr Rahman, chairman of IFLMEA, said the show would serve as a strategic platform for Indian leather goods and footwear manufacturers to present innovative designs and craftsmanship to a global audience.
He added that the recently concluded India–European Union Free Trade Agreement is expected to provide a significant boost to exports. According to IFLMEA estimates, the leather industry could see 15–20% growth in domestic and export trade over the next three years. Rahman also noted that the fashion show has been organised for over six decades, underscoring its legacy within the industry.
K.R. Vijayan, convenor of Fashion Show and Brand Symposium 2026, said the event would feature 14 leading Indian leather goods manufacturers, showcasing designer leather garments, footwear and accessories made from ovine and bovine leather. The show will include 14 showstoppers and 70 models, directed by Bhaskaran Chandrasekhar and choreographed by Jude Felix.
The Brand Symposium, now in its second year, aims to strengthen connections between manufacturers and retailers across India and explore private label partnerships. Yavar Dhala, co-convenor of Brand Symposium 2026, said around 50 retailers and 20 domestic brands are expected to participate.
Nearly 750 people are anticipated to attend the Leather Fashion Show, making it one of the key industry events in Chennai’s fashion and manufacturing calendar.
